True Acceptance

You walk the road with those
you believe wish good for you.

Each step that you take
walking in the shoes they say
that invite acceptance from them.

Each word that you speak
learning from those who disguise
themselves as the most truthful.

Each glance that you take
through the shallow reflection
from the glass facade they wear.

Each smile that you fake
aching the skin around your mouth
to be a part of their world of acceptance.

You keep walking their road
wanting to be accepted by them.

Your hands shake holding the drink
you always hated, forcing yourself
you gulp it down your throat while
your heart gulps another regret, silently.

Your skin feels like an innocent prisoner
suffocating behind the bars built by the
self-proclaimed righteous who rule the
world of acceptance you want to be in.

With the same sound of steps and words
you enter the place you call home, that
accepts you unconditionally and lovingly.

You put off weight that you carried
and look at the mirror, showing the dirt
you foolishly picked while walking the
road taking to their world of acceptance.

You bend more to see the true reflection
of your contemplative eyes, insight-fully
and you realize that their shine has been
lost in the blurring iniquitous light they
throw on them only to mislead you.

In silence, you hear the cries of your heart
and you realize that the only thing that
matters the most is to accept yourself truly
in all shades of life, for every inch of your skin.

Do not enter the room
you believe has been
filled with fragrance
of happiness
of chasing each other’s
dreams and ambitions;
when all it has is
biting melancholy
lining the brittle walls,
countless nightmares
seeking my lunacy,
a failed purpose
to come out alive.

Do not twine your arms
around my neck
and stare into my eyes
to unfold the reasons
of the gloominess
veiling their soul;
for my burning tears
will flood you in
perpetual darkness,
my failures
will haunt you
in your lively dreams,
my disappointments
will rupture your faith
in yourself
in love
maybe, everything.

Do not lie down with me
on heavy and blue nights
to plant a kiss
of solace and wanting
unaware of
the venomous words
inked on my hands
designed in my mind
destroying the peace,
your night arrives with
and howling in your
silent heart.

I am a secret
Do not forget me
as someone
who is her own curse.

When Heath Ledger winked at me and I couldn’t concentrate on questions!

You are writing and a question pops up and you are reminded of your favorite celebrity. You are in awe, and forget everything else!

Hello! Okay, so it is Liebster award again! Sulgano, a  capable writer and Priya, a lively and cheerful blogger nominated me for the Libester Award. I thank both of you and I shall acknowledge it by answering the questions you have put for your nominees.

1. Suppose you spent the whole evening and night studying for a paper next day, engrossed. In the morning some hour before the exam a friend told you,” Stupid. Dude that paper was postponed last evening. Now we have another exam, though easy one.” What would you feel and how will deal with it?

A- Haha! I am sure that would never happen to me, but let me “suppose” now. I would be like, “Oh Shoot! God, why me?” and then I would think and attempt as many questions as I can with a calm mind.

2. If you get the chance, with which celebrity would you like to date with? A- From present- Hrithik Roshan From past- Heath ledger 3. If you were elected the Ruler of the world, Supreme Power, what will do? Which are the things would make you deeply satisfied? And which are the things you would miss and crave for?

A- Right now I don’t want supreme powers but super powers to fly to a place I am dying to visit. Lol! I would do my best to eradicate poverty from the world and would invest in efficient and necessary medical services. Plus, I would make people listen to my jokes because I really would like to see happy faces around.(Just Kidding!) These would satisfy me. Also, I would be slightly selfish and buy my own freaking plane. I will get a private swimming pool, no?
 I’ll miss being normal. Haha!

4. What will you say, when you approached your crush after battling your own inner fears, and he/she says, “ hahaha….you are so funny and sweet. By the way you deserve someone better than me. ” ?

A- My Precise reaction: I know! Of course, I deserve someone better than you who knows when I joking and when I am serious.(Evil Laugh) And hey, I know you look like a monkey, but don’t underestimate yourself that much.

5. What will you do if you encounter a ghost face to face by coincidence?

A- I’d ask the ghost what scares him and that if he likes darkness why he puts on a white cloth?

6. If you caught a kid (in close relations, may be your kid or future kid, and age below 14) watching porn or nude pictures, what will you say to him or her?

A- I used to teach a fifth grader few months back and while having a random conversation with him one day, I got to know that he once showed middle finger to someone who used to bully him every day in school. When I asked where he learned that, he said that he saw a classmate showing the fingers to someone and he only knew that it was an abuse and was completely unaware of the meaning. I advised him that, “before speaking or doing anything you must know what it means and whether it is important or relevant, considering the situation you are in. There is always a right time for certain things. Now do this problem without counting on your fingers.” I would say the same to my kid or any other kid.

HOWEVER, If I am already in a bad mood, I’d beat the shit out of him!
I’d add typical Indian-mother dialogue:”BAS YAHI DIN DEKHNE KE LIYE MEINE TUJHE PAIDA KIYA THA? MERI JUTI KAHA HA? JAA LEKE AA!” (Translation: Did I give birth to you to see you doing such perversity? Where is my Sandal? Go get them!)
(Later, I would log in to WordPress and write a blog how internet has ruined children’s mind and would shout down if the WiFi stops working in between.)

7. Suppose you have a crush on your best friend and he or she keeps on asking whom do you like. Its obvious that person will be in a surprise and taken aback if you directly say” I love you or that person is you. ” It can be positive or negative because when they say they don’t mean for themselves. So how will you approach to your crush who asks who is your crush?

A- Since your question has “keeps on asking” my answer would be: “Ah! I see, you want me to take your name, no? Look, it is never gonna happen. Now please shift a bit to your right. You’ve been blocking my view and I cannot see that hottie behind you.”

8. How will you react if a call came from an unknown number at 2 am local time telling that you have been nominated for the Nobel Prize and among the top 20 nominees?

A- How did you get my number?

9. What is your opinion on Love at First Sight? Does it exist or not?

A- For me it exists only when I am watching Heath Ledger in any of his movies. I fell in love with him (his smile) at first sight. In reality, it does not. Not to me.

10. Suppose you were born in those days of colonial rule. What will you do as a person in order to inspire people putting an end to the period ruled as slaves and fight back their total freedom?

A- Listen to Mahatma Gandhi.

1. Which is that one thing inspire you daily?

A- Realizing that this is not the end. Get up and try again.

2. That one person, who gives you strength.

A- My mother.

3. One song which puts smile on your face at any time.

A- Something Stupid by Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman.

4. The one thing you hate about yourself.

A- When I am already running late and cannot decide what to wear!

5. Two things about you, which you can’t change ever!

A- 1) Procrastinating

6. Do you believe in destiny?

A- Oh! Completely. I have experienced quite unusual events in my life that prove me that yes there is something called destiny.

7. The one thing you are always on to do at any time.

A- SLEEEEEP! I don’t get tired doing it.

8. Your favorite day time.

9. What is your best childhood memory?

A- Having tea with my Grandma every evening.

10. Your life quote.

A- “Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!” – Bob Marley

Thank you, Sulgano and Priya. I enjoyed answering your questions. Have a good day!

Deeply rooted in the heart,
drawing up the love,
rushing passionately in each vein.
The sweet fragrance,
permeating the,
fathomless depth of the skin.
The flower of love,
breathing in the
sunlight in your eyes.

संगीत (With Translation)

” The Song”

With the coming of half-made moon in the sky
Pain has invaded each wall and corner of my heart.

In the helter-skelter gathering of life
In the movements of adversities and calamities
In the inconstancies of beloved
my peace has been lost somewhere.

In the noises of sorrows and grief
the song of your tinkling rosy bangles
the song of your night time lullabies
has been lost somewhere.

Again tonight, an eddy of your memories, mother
whirls through my tears.

(Thank you, Himanshu for helping me with English translation.)

Aasman mei iss aadhe-adhure chand ke sath
Dil ke dar-o-deewar mei dard utar aaya hai

Zindagi ke is darham-barham mehfil mei
Gardish-e-aafat mei
Bewafai-haa-e-yaaraan mei
mera chan kahi khoo gaya hai

Inn ranjishon ke shor mei
teri gulabi choodiyon ka
raat ke teri looriyon ka
sangeet kahi khoo gaya ha

Aaj raat fir teri yaadon ka bhawar, maa
meri inn aansuon mei utar aaya hai

The “Sisterhood of the World” Blogger Award

Okay, I love this blog award because it is for the sisterhood community and because Barria nominated me. Yay! Thank you, Barria for this honor and love. You always make me smile, you know! 🙂 We are sisters!

  • Thank the giver and link their blog to your post.
  • Answer the 10 questions given to you.
  • Pass the award on to 7 other bloggers of their choice and let them know that they have been nominated.
  • Include the logo of the award in a post or on your blog

Here they are:

1. On the bad days, how do you cheer yourself up?

A- I have few ways depending on my mood. I may sing, go for a walk, play some music for at least one full hour, sleep over it, write, or make jokes.

2. Which is your favourite food?

3. How do you let go?

A- I don’t think I have learned this yet completely . However, I tell myself that, if I keep pulling the rope, my hands would hurt, and my mom wouldn’t like it.

4.  How much do you value ‘silence’?

A- Ah! A LOT! Noises and unnecessary chit-chat give me headache. Silence is the reason I am a lover of nights, contemplating the sky. There is a lot of talking that we can do in silence, if only we know how to.

5.  Will you hurt someone intentionally or lie to make them feel better?

A- Um, I think I’ll lie.

6. Do you have faith in humanity? why or why not?

A- Yes, I do have faith in humanity. The coin have two sides and there is no way that while tossing only one of them would appear/be seen every freaking time.

7. One thing you really wish could come true?

A- My Prayers. (God made me smart)

8. If you had to sum up your life in 10 or less words, what would they be?

A- Like a moth near a flame. (Though not what Shakespeare meant.) A moth do not fear to go near the candle even after knowing that the flames will burn it. If the candle’s light overpowers the darkness, a moth near the light overpowers the light. (Too deep, maybe.)

9. How do you express anger?

A- <This way>

10.  What is the one thing that will turn you completely off about a person?

A- Self obsession.

My Nominations : 1. Izza 2. Archita 3. Naima 4. Geethu 5. Gail 6. Ayushi 7. Ifrah

8000 Miles

My hands longing to hold your arms
that make the safest home for me
loathe these miles that keep me
away from the warmth of your hugs.

My eyes wanting to be read by you
shed a tear while watching the sky
above us knowing that you are looking
at the sun right now remembering me.

My ink not letting me pen down any
word any emotion that I feel tonight
as my soul is wishing to just sit by
the lake and talk to you in silence.

I hear the whispers of my sobbing heart
trying to comfort me with words you had
once spoken to me, that even though
we are miles apart, our souls have crossed
and that this love is more than the costly
tickets and thousand miles separating us.

Glass of Wine

Between my dreams and reality,
that sends shivers down my spine
my fears and hopes swim
like untold stories in a glass of wine.

All my implicit thoughts,
the desire to make you mine
all lie smoothly on the impression
of my lips on a glass of wine.

A sip of hopefulness,
a sip of helplessness,
tells my thoughts to recline,
alters the color of my eyes
while I talk to an affable glass of wine.

There is no song to play
no words on the blue line,
yet the heart weeps
as I drink another glass of wine.
