“Sonnet XVII
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;so I love you because I know no other way than this:
where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep. ”― Pablo Neruda
Day 2- Quote 2
This is in response to the Quote Challenge for which I was nominated by these wonderful fellow bloggers; Ashish, Darshith, HSampson, Asil and Akiraa.
I know that the challenge says to post a quote, but I can break the rule for the beauty of the words. In this challenge, I would not have forgotten Pablo Neruda. There are quotes taken from this Sonnet, but there is no verse that I can miss while reading this. Yet another favorite quote. Re-read it and enjoy goosebumps!
My Nominations for Day 2
In case you have been already nominated by someone, do let me know, I would nominate some other blogger 🙂

Like you, I break many rules because what is creativity if bound by rules! Creativity is the birth of thoughts uncontrolled and allowed to develop as they desire. Limiting creativity by rules is simply stifling it to the point where it simply becomes yet another copy of an original. Celebrate true creativity and allow your soul to flow freely through your pen! Use your own pen; use your own ink; use your own choice of medium to write on. Be you ………….. because you can never successfully be anybody else!:)

You have defined creativity what it truly is, and I totally agree with you.
Yes, I will always keep that in mind, Colin. Thank you for a wonderful comment! 🙂

This was the first poem of Pablo Neruda I’d read, sometime back
He’s been one of my favourite poets ever since and I hope you feel my happiness to see you post this!
Read “Don’t go far off”, its lovely, and “Keeping Quiet”, if you haven’t already.
