Status Update

I am quite frustrated with WordPress for a couple of days, and there are reasons for acting grumpy.

This is what I want to do with WordPress.
This is what I want to do with WordPress.

Firstly, I am not getting posts from my friends( Favorite bloggers) on Reader. I surmised that they haven’t posted in days, but then I go and visit their sites, and I see posts from them! This is really annoying. My reader has got nothing! 😥

Secondly, Many comments are going to Spam folder. Why would comment like, “I really like your blog.” would be marked as spam? Why why why?
If there is something that can be done about it, please let me know.

Thirdly, the views and likes on stats are low than the likes on the posts. How? Why?

  1. Kritika, check if you were unfollowed from those blogs. That happens all too often and is the reason why their posts don’t show up. I also wondered how it can be the number of likes can be higher than the views. There is a bug in the system for months.

  2. I have been a user of blogger platform for quite some time. I always found WordPress a bit complicated. So, I used the former one only. Then I decided to go anonymous and started on WordPress. So I’m still getting used to the features. What I loved about this is the Reader and the comments section. It’s just so cool. And if you have an app, you can access it from anywhere. That’s even more awesome. All these features arent present in Blogger.

I think it must be a database error or something. Give it a day’s time. Then you could raise a concern, I guess.

  3. Have you voiced the frustrations on the WP forums? Seems the bigger you grow, the likelier that WP will knock you off readers’ Reader. Crazy. I’ve had many readers refollow – though I understand that it looked as though you were still connected to them.

And the Stats might be accurate, actually. Some visitors/readers could be tapping LIKE without tapping into the post and triggering a full view. 😦

    • Hello.
No, I haven’t. I did not think of doing it.
Now reading this, I believe that it could be the reason.
Oh! I never thought of that!
      WordPress has its own complexities.
However, today I am seeing posts from some readers and I am glad.

Thank you very much for your comment. 🙂

  4. Maybe the graphic You have presented is what Actually You did to WP, and this is merely the residual image in Your memory? And WP, having been torn to shreds, has started limping? Hahaha! Joking, of course. Hope things have become all right now. Regards. 🙂

  5. One can like the post without going inside the post from the WP reader. That’s the reason for having less views & more likes (happens with everyone mostly). WP reader sucks. All you can do is bookmark your selected sites and read them as per your wish 😛 Fingers crossed for better updates.

  6. Hi Kritika!
I’ve noted a solution for increasing the no. of views in your stats!
Go to wp adimin -> settings -> Reading -> and check the radio button for ‘summary’ under the ‘For each article in a feed, show’ column.
Now whenever anyone came to know about your post on his/her reader, It will only show the excerpt and you’ve to click on ‘view original’ in order to read the full blog post.
And hence, your views will increase.

Oh sorry! You’ve asked for a technical part problem and I commented something else above!!!
No problem. I think that you should check for https://wordpress.org/support .

P.S. Such kinda things haven’t happened with me in till date.

  7. Careful Kritika, WordPress will figure out that you’re onto them, and their secret will be out. You know the one… where they go party on weekends and then mess up all week long while recovering from their hangovers.Whoops… guess the secrets out now. Darn that truth serum!
