Those perfidious friends
My faint-hearted lover
The hollowed bones inside
Muted cries of all nights
All were like the grapes
of grievous cluster
producing nothing but
abundant wine of pain.

Perhaps I could suggest that you change your taste in wine ……… or you need new friends and a new lover! Nice writing regardless. 🙂

I am a teetotaler, but I am drunk in all my melancholic poetries. I don’t seek a lover or new friends. I have so many wonderful friends here 🙂
Thank you for your words, Colin.

Kritika, I am catching up with your writing and was reading from newest to oldest. I noticed the theme of melancholic pain and then read this poem. The beauty of it in expressing that hurt from deceitful friends and a lover aloof to the hurt is striking. The metaphor of a grievous grape cluster and wine of pain is powerful. Beautiful penmanship from a deep and sensitive heart. (I do hope this isn’t from real pain of a like nature)

I am so glad to hear that you liked my melancholic words, Dan. Means a lot to me. The reason of the melancholic theme is coming up soon. I just need to take out so more time. Hope I do it in couple of days.
They are nothing but the reflection of what I have observed and experienced. Thank you for your appreciation and support. 🙂

Your expression of melancholy is well penned which indicates your personal experience and empathy to others. You have a global network of friends who wish only the best for you and dark times will pass. The darkness cannot hide the light long. It is the nature of our path.

Friends on blog have saved me and I must admit that.
Yes, darkness cannot hide the light.
I am healing gradually with that light 🙂
