For a Friend

It is difficult to tell
of when and how
the fragrance of
flowers of our friendship
started to linger around
you and me, but
I am certain that
the garden of your love
has already dwelled
into my heart.

Not many words
were spoken
the last time I met you,
yet I remember how
every word was heard.

Again today if I drop
this pen and let these
words to wander
I know that you will
pick them up
where I left,
with your love.

हाथों में कलम और किताब लिए (With English Translation)

हाथों में कलम और किताब लिए
ख़यालो को नज़्म बनाते हुए
ज़िन्दगी सुलझ गई थी
उलझे हुए क़ाफ़िए मे।

Haathon mei kalam aur kitaab liye
Khaayalon ko nazam banate hue
Zindagi sulajh gayi the
Uljhe hue kaafiye mei.

Holding a pen and a book in hands
Turning thoughts into poetries
My life got untangled
In entangled rhymes.

Unfading

beauty-boy-bw-cigarette-Favim.com-681400

Weary of the tears my eyes and pen created to paint you and your memories
I replaced the pen with a cigarette, holding it between my fingers
To suck in the truth that you no longer care
To blow out the smoke along with thoughts of you
To flick off the ashes of love we once lived
But every time I puffed, the cloud of the smoke created your face.

Disclaimer: Smoking cigarette in poems is not injurious to health; however, the heart may ache for a while.

Tonight I am too Tired

IMG_20150613_204119_HDR

Tonight my moon hides behind the gloomy clouds
Tonight the stars do not reflect the twinkle in my eyes
Tonight I am too tired to heart myself out, just like them.

Tonight I am too tired to paint you with my ink
To rain your memories through my teary eyes
To savor your scent etched into your letters.

Tonight my mind is too slothful to be lost in thoughts
Tonight my veins are too murky to carry my thin blood
Tonight my skin is too weary to breathe in melancholy.

Tonight my pen is too tired to sing me lullabies
Tonight the silence is too tired to envelope me
Tonight I am too tired to put myself to sleep.
