Righteousness

Where there is righteousness in the heart there is beauty in the character;
When there is beauty in the character there is harmony in the home;
When there is harmony in the home there is order in the nation;
When there is order in the nation, there is peace in the world.

Day-3 Quote-3

This is in response to the Quote Challenge for which I was nominated by these wonderful fellow bloggers; Ashish, AsilDarshith, HSampson and Akiraa.

This is my favorite quote from APJ Abdul Kalam sir. Sir has been my inspiration throughout and he is not just a leader to me, but a perfect human being I can ever imagine. I have read all of his books and his words of wisdom echo in my head. His journey, his struggles, his success, his accomplishments, his teachings, his undaunted nature moved me. I have all the respect and love for this incredible man.
I always wanted to attend at least one of his lectures. I wanted to hear him live. I wanted to see movements of his hands while explaining (see the picture), while giving a speech and most importantly, I wanted to see that contagious smile. Then one day, I happened to came across a poster on my college notice board about a seminar that was being organised by Delhi University and sir was invited for discussions on commerce. I jumped in excitement and my happiness knew no limit. I registered for the seminar with the money that I had earned organizing a Rio+20 United Nation on Sustainable Development event. Well, yes, that did add to my happiness.
On the day of seminar, after I had done collecting my registration receipt and brochure, I turned back and there he was standing, crowded by university staff. I was only few inches away, but I was so amazed to see him that by the time I could act, he had entered the seminar hall. I am getting all nostalgic remembering it. Yes, he is that favorite.
This is the quote/poetry he narrated on that day and it is on my mind since then.
If you wish to, you can read about him here.

Rules for the challenge:

True Acceptance

s_1296594152

You walk the road with those
you believe wish good for you.

Each step that you take
walking in the shoes they say
that invite acceptance from them.

Each word that you speak
learning from those who disguise
themselves as the most truthful.

Each glance that you take
through the shallow reflection
from the glass facade they wear.

Each smile that you fake
aching the skin around your mouth
to be a part of their world of acceptance.

You keep walking their road
wanting to be accepted by them.

Your hands shake holding the drink
you always hated, forcing yourself
you gulp it down your throat while
your heart gulps another regret, silently.

Your skin feels like an innocent prisoner
suffocating behind the bars built by the
self-proclaimed righteous who rule the
world of acceptance you want to be in.

With the same sound of steps and words
you enter the place you call home, that
accepts you unconditionally and lovingly.

You put off weight that you carried
and look at the mirror, showing the dirt
you foolishly picked while walking the
road taking to their world of acceptance.

You bend more to see the true reflection
of your contemplative eyes, insight-fully
and you realize that their shine has been
lost in the blurring iniquitous light they
throw on them only to mislead you.

In silence, you hear the cries of your heart
and you realize that the only thing that
matters the most is to accept yourself truly
in all shades of life, for every inch of your skin.

Fucked up!

These voices inside me
Do not whisper anymore
They shout and say
You are Fucked up!
The noises echoing inside
Don’t let the tired eyes
To fall asleep
To dream of it, again.

“Get yourself out of it”
My mind constantly
Pushing me to the edge.
Hold on to it.”
The heart continues
In perseverance.
Get into your zone”
The voice speaks loud
Alarming me of unseen
Selfishness of the world
Leaving you with Nothing
But a Fucked up life!

“This heart of yours, dear
Is totally Fucked up.”
My mind contemplates
In a never ending war
Of heart and mind
Of emotions and reality
Of mine and their purposes
Of everything and nothing.

I’m afraid to wake up
To find myself in a
Fucked up situation
Where there’s no road
To walk on
Where there’s no light
To look through
Where there’s no hope
To believe in.

My eyes gets heavy
My hands inked
In mess they both make
In their war
Unheard and unknown
To the world
The one that is actually
Fucked up!
