Weary of the tears my eyes and pen created to paint you and your memories
I replaced the pen with a cigarette, holding it between my fingers
To suck in the truth that you no longer care
To blow out the smoke along with thoughts of you
To flick off the ashes of love we once lived
But every time I puffed, the cloud of the smoke created your face.

Your poem speaks volumes. Very good, Kritika. Although we “think” that we are done, our heart still reminds us that love cannot simply be turned off. Wonderful, wonderful poem.

Time helps in distancing from the situation. There might still be love but more of an unconditional way…. again it needs time. But it is a process of finding out a lot about yourself.

You are lost in love and then one day you lose yourself only to find who you really are – I have always thought it this way.

That is a very interesting way to put it and I agree. All of those disappointments are opening something within ourselves which we would have never discovered without it.

Yes, true. Everything happens for a reason is hence proved.

I so agree with you.
Don’t we always accept things and truth as per our convenience? 😉

I like the way that you juxtapose the ash of your relationship with the images created by the rising smoke. I love the symbolism and imagery in your words, Kritika…

Thank you…..
